RTI is a winner on supporting the Fairfax Public School System (FCPS),
http://www.fcps.k12.va.us/, infrastructure. FCPS is the twelfth largest
school system in the United States. With 150,000 students, 20,000
employees, and 200 schools and centers, FCPS is a large organization with
significant information technology needs. To support this enterprise FCPS
has established a network infrastructure to support over 40,000 high-end
personal computers and 230 individual sites.
RTI teamed with SIGNAL Corporation, http://www.signalcorp.com/, as a
subcontract to SIGNAL Corporation. RTI will provide consulting engineering
and programming services for the FCPS. In particular, these services will
cover network management, engineering and administration including but no
limited to maintenance and administration of a large Wide Area Network
(WAN); maintenance of intranet and Internet services including E-mail
systems and network browsers; Local Area Network (LAN) administration and
maintenance in schools and centers. Approximately 250 networks and 17,500
workstations are involved in this project. RTI brings significant
experience in distributed systems, network architecture, and the software
lifecycle development to the table to compliment the Signal skill set to
support the FCPS.
