RTI Presents at the 2003 Combatant Command CBRN Defense Symposium The symposium was held to provide the combatant command staffs the opportunity to receive up-to-date information on the DOD CBRN Defense program and its new management structure. This symposium assisted the combatant command staffs to identify and prioritize their specific CBRN defense command capabilities and shortfalls. It also included discussions of special interest topics, such as biological warfare defense, force protection, consequence management and other CBRN defense-related issues. This symposium was open to other military personnel, government civilians, academia, and industry personnel with appropriate security clearances. Mr. David Godso of RTI was selected to present based on RTI's expertise in CBRN software and systems development. Mr. Godso's presentation dealt with the topic of "Automated Information Management and Decision Aids". He explained the issues associated with network centric systems and interoperability as they related to technology building blocks necessary to achieve effective information management and decision support tools. Mr. Godso finally provided practical recommendations to the attendees on how to address these issues going forward and also described the benefits of doing so.
