RTI performed analysis and proof of concept prototyping and training for the U.S. ARMY's Soldier Biological Command (SBCCOM) Integrated Digital Environment (IDE). The IDE will be an Enterprise Knowledge Portal (EKP) based on government Standard 1505.2. The basis for this EKP is to manage Programmatic Data Storage, Team Collaboration for Acquisition Management and Document Configuration Management for the Joint Biological Point Detection System (JBPDS). RTI performed an analysis of the knowledge needs, performed workflow analysis and design, database design, and a roadmap of current knowledge state and options going forward. RTI tradeoff and analysis study can now be used as the roadmap for the full implementation of the nine functional business areas and six core processes for the complete electronic management of the JBPDS program (an ACAT II level program).
As an Acquisition Category II (ACAT II) program, the PM JBPDS is required to develop and use an Integrated Digital Environment (IDE). This IDE is the focal point for program information and data exchange used by the JBPDS team. The IDE includes the capability to house all life cycle acquisition information and is structured to integrate electronic information into JBPDS’s nine (9) core business processes and functions. The IDE has the ability to perform Digital Object Management, Process Automation, and Information Sharing and Knowledge Management functions. The IDE is being implemented incrementally starting with global addressing, calendar/events schedule, to familiarize the users. Process workflows are being added as they are identified and prioritized. The JBPDS IDE consists of Livelink, as the user interface software, and Oracle for database requirements.
